And if you haven't yet, get out there and check out District 9!
Absolutely stunning, and very refreshing sci-fi set in African slums. One of the best films I've seen in a good while! And made for around $30 million, a relatively small budget.
Check out this awesome interview with District 9 director Neill Blomkamp!
He's got some really good things to say about making personal and fulfilling films. Also, take a gander at the short film, Alive In Joburg that inspired the feature, made back in '05!
